چکیده

The higher losses of fruits and vegetables during post-harvest handling are a serious matter for any country whose economy is based on agriculture. products this plant significant source horticultural produce storage used the control different losses, which include diseases as well microorganisms. Bio-coatings may be better alternative to synthetic chemicals. impact edible coating quality life mango (cv. ‘Anwar Rataul’) fruit was investigated by harvesting at firm green stage physiological maturity them with corn oil, peanut sunflower soya bean animal fat. uncoated coated were stored 25 °C relative humidity (RH) 75%. analyzed physicochemical attributes 0 (harvest time), 5, 10, 15, 20, days. data showed that most parameters affected significantly materials intervals (P ≤ 0.05). fat had superior color, taste, aroma, firmness, total sugar content, acidity juice, soluble solids, ascorbic acid delayed ripening. Animal fat-coated retained titratable acidity, content (mg.100g-1) firmness (kg.cm-2) minimal disease incidence, weight loss (%), whereas did not retain all deteriorated after 20 days storage. In conclusion, could up without deterioration in quality.

Postharvest Quality of Mango (mangifera Indica L.) Fruit as Affected by Chitosan Coating

The effect of coating with irradiated Crab and Shrimp chitosan (CHIirr, Mv = 5.14 × 104) and un-irradiated Crab chitosan (CHIun, Mv = 2.61 × 105) on postharvest preservation of mango (Mangifera indica L.) fruit was studied. Irradiation at 100 kGy and 200 kGy of both Crab chitosan and Shrimp chitosan were used and the fruits were stored at 15°C ± 1°C and 85% relative humidity for 6 weeks. The ef...

Effect of the moisture content of forced hot air on the postharvest quality and bioactive compounds of mango fruit (Mangifera indica L. cv. Manila).

BACKGROUND The effectiveness of hot air treatments in controlling decay and insects in mango fruit has been demonstrated and has usually been assessed as a function of the temperature of the heated air and the duration of the treatment. However, the contribution of the moisture content of the heated air has received little attention, especially with regard to fruit quality. In this study, mango...

Transcriptome Analysis of Mango (Mangifera indica L.) Fruit Epidermal Peel to Identify Putative Cuticle-Associated Genes

Mango fruit (Mangifera indica L.) are highly perishable and have a limited shelf life, due to postharvest desiccation and senescence, which limits their global distribution. Recent studies of tomato fruit suggest that these traits are influenced by the expression of genes that are associated with cuticle metabolism. However, studies of these phenomena in mango fruit are limited by the lack of g...

Effect of foliar application of micronutrients on the quality of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Dusehri fruit

The present study was aimed to determine the effect of foliar application of micronutrients (Fe, B and Zn) on the quality of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Dusehri plants. For this purpose, 21 healthy, full bearing and mature (20-25 years old) trees were subjected to foliar application of different combinations of FeSO4, H3BO3 and ZnSO4 before flowering and at full bloom stage. Results reveale...

Abscission and Ethylene Production in Mango (mangifera Indica L) Fruit Cv. Tommy Atkins1

Rates of fruit drop and remaining fruited pan icles were monitored in the field for 96 days beginning on April 1, 1983. More than 90% of total fruit drop occurred within the first 4 wk, and final fruit set was 0.61%. Per centage of fruited panicles remained constant for the first 3 wk, decreasing sharply to 40% by the 6th week, and ending at 11.7% at harvest. Of the fruit which reached maturity...
